Affordability is about more than just groceries. From health insurance and prescription drugs to our electric bills and taxes, families are feeling the squeeze. And it shouldn’t be this hard to make ends meet.
That’s why I want to share a little about Shannon Taylor, the Democratic candidate for Virginia’s 1st Congressional District, and her focus on affordability.
Healthcare: Shannon supports restoring tax credits that help people afford health insurance, lowering prescription drug costs, and protecting Medicare and Medicaid. Because no one should have to worry about whether they can afford the care they need.
Utilities: Our electric bills are a real concern, especially as data centers bring growing demands for power and water. Shannon believes data centers should pay their fair share of those costs instead of passing the bill along to local families.
Taxes: Shannon wants to cut taxes for working families and small businesses, not give the biggest breaks to billionaires and large corporations. She also opposes tariffs that can make everyday goods more expensive.
At the end of the day, affordability is personal. It’s about being able to see a doctor, pay your bills, and have a little breathing room at the end of the month.
Incumbent Rob Wittman has not focused on these issues. This IS a flippable seat if everyone gets out to vote!
