“We all have skillsets, we all have networks, we all have things we care about, we all have things we can bring to the table”. That was the message that Neighbors for Change brought to more than 50 people at the Wyndham Clubhouse on Sunday.

The event was designed to show how Neighbors for Change is expanding, and how people can get involved in that effort.
“At the top of the ballot we have Abigail Spanberger, we’re going to be electing our Lt. Governor, the Attorney General and our delegate in the House of Delegates”
– Brittany Rose of Neighbors for Change
While Neighbors for Change is focused on local elections here in Virginia, everything being done at the federal level trickles down to our neighbors. “My husband was one of the layoffs at the federal level”, said one neighbor who came out to get involved. “We are all just looking for a way to do something”, said another.
The event was designed to show neighbors how they can get involved and act right here in our own community. Neighbors had a chance to use post it notes to answer questions, like “What gives you hope right now?” or “What can we do to help the vulnerable people in our community?” The organization will now sort through all the answers to see how we can best support our neighbors and most importantly elect our Democratic candidates to state offices. “I’ve been trying to get more plugged in to Abigail Spanberger’s campaign and get more involved locally to see what I can do to help, with efforts to bring people together, compassion, kindness, helping each other locally.”, said attendee Heather Massey.
Over coffee and conversation, people met like-minded neighbors and left with a sense of being a part of something bigger. If you were unable to attend, and would like to get involved, please subscribe to our Newsletter.
