Virginia voters are one step closer to weighing in on redrawing congressional maps mid-decade. The House of Delegates Appropriations Committee voted 15–7 on Thursday to move forward a bill that would set April 21 as the date for a ballot referendum on a proposed constitutional amendment.

Monks Walk For Peace Coming to RVA
A group of Buddhist monks participating in a Walk for Peace are expected to arrive in Virginia next month.
The monk’s started their walk in Texas in October and have been marching across the southern U.S. on their way to Washington, DC.

Tejada is an Outreach Specialist with Central Virginia Legal Aid Society. Last year, the program assisted about 5200 H-2A workers, some of whom have been coming here to the same farms for twenty years. “If we don’t have those farmworkers, the farmers can go bankrupt. The farmers are very affected.”
