November 14, 2025
By: Staff Writer

Disability Visibility: A Roundtable Conversation

Community. Dignity. Action.

No one is invisible or voiceless — but it’s up to us to make sure no one is left unseen or unheard. Join a public discussion on the lived experiences of people with disabilities and caretakers to explore what true inclusion, access, and dignity can look like in all of our communities.

Date: Saturday, December 6 at 3 p.m.

Location: First Congregational Church, 4310 Courthouse Rd, Midlothian, VA 23112

Register at Eventbrite.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. This is a rare opportunity for members of the disability community to share their stories about any disability issues they’re facing as well as discuss how state and federal legislators can help with concrete solutions.

N4C is proud to promote this special event featuring N4C writer Heather Massey and her daughter Sadie.

Denise Good Troubl

“What brings me out is the future of my grandchildren and my great grandchildren and bad things for the working class. People fought so hard to get us where we are, I was hoping we’d never go back, we’d just keep moving forward and make it better. But we’re going backward, and it’s getting worse.”

Amy Good Trouble

“I object to what’s going on. Every morning I wake up and open the newspaper like ‘What fresh hell will there be today?’ And there are so many issues that I’m absolutely horrified by that it’s hard to list them all. My partner is on Medicaid and they craftily cut it – for after the midterms. He has a large number of health issues, and it’s going to be very difficult for him to get healthcare. It’ll be really tough.”
