October 5, 2025
By: Ericka Kopp

Ericka Kopp

Compassion and courage. The heart of a public servant with the grit of an ice hockey player. That’s me. I’m Ericka Kopp, candidate for Congress in Virginia’s First District. I stand for access and accountability, and I’m putting people and communities over partisan politics.

Letter to the Editor: Why I’m Running For Congress

September 19, 2025
By: Sean Sublette

Sean Sublette

I’m often asked why a meteorologist would run for office. For me, the reasons are connected to what I remember growing up in Richmond. I have loved earth science ever since I was a kid in the ‘70s and vividly remember the thick haze that used to hang over the city every summer and the news stories about Kepone poisoning the James River. And I wondered why we could not do better. It turns out we could…

In its current form, the bill makes roughly $600 billion in cuts to Medicaid. Two Wyndham families are watching the bill closely and fear they would be directly affected by the cuts.

June 8, 2025

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the… Read More

Denise Good Troubl

“What brings me out is the future of my grandchildren and my great grandchildren and bad things for the working class. People fought so hard to get us where we are, I was hoping we’d never go back, we’d just keep moving forward and make it better. But we’re going backward, and it’s getting worse.”

Amy Good Trouble

“I object to what’s going on. Every morning I wake up and open the newspaper like ‘What fresh hell will there be today?’ And there are so many issues that I’m absolutely horrified by that it’s hard to list them all. My partner is on Medicaid and they craftily cut it – for after the midterms. He has a large number of health issues, and it’s going to be very difficult for him to get healthcare. It’ll be really tough.”
