Why are you a Neighbor For Change?
Inclusion for all is being compromised. When I was growing up, there was this thought process that we are all in this together. Now we are divisive and I worry that the kids are not going to grow up with that feeling of oneness.
What is your biggest concern right now?
There seems to be a lot of work to do. On a personal note, my husband used to work for the Federal Government. He no longer has that position. We didn’t think that (he’d be without a job this year). Our family has suffered, and I think other families have probably suffered so much more.
Where do you find hope?
I grew up in Hyde Park, New York, the home of President Roosevelt and I felt very strongly that we come together – all of us. That is the power of the United States. I feel that is being infringed upon and I don’t know what to make of it.”
