N4C Spotlight: Heather and Sadie

May 30, 2025
By: Staff Writer

Why are you a Neighbor For Change?

“I’ve been trying to get more plugged in to things like Abigail Spanberger’s campaign. And to get more involved locally to see if there is anything I can do to help to bring people together – compassion, kindness, helping our neighbors.”

What is your driving force?

“I’m against fascism, so I want to do everything I can to help save our democracy.  We’ve been going to protests, calling our representatives about various issues, volunteering with a reproductive freedom organization – everything on a regular basis.” – Heather

“Education. Taking away the Department of Education which really helps people like me.” – Sadie

“I’d like to know who else is on the same page as me. Not only politically, but socially. I’m starting to feel like things are getting really, really serious and we have to organize locally and statewide. I just want to save democracy at this point. It’s really that simple.”

“It’s very hard to know who you can even talk to about things. And it’s hard to know what to do – which is the intention. So many things coming at once and it’s hard to know how to react.” Read More
