“What brings me out is the future of my grandchildren and my great grandchildren and bad things for the working class. People fought so hard to get us where we are, I was hoping we’d never go back, we’d just keep moving forward and make it better. But we’re going backward, and it’s getting worse.”
  • Amy Good Trouble

“I object to what’s going on. Every morning I wake up and open the newspaper like ‘What fresh hell will there be today?’ And there are so many issues that I’m absolutely horrified by that it’s hard to list them all. My partner is on Medicaid and they craftily cut it – for after the midterms. He has a large number of health issues, and it’s going to be very difficult for him to get healthcare. It’ll be really tough.”
  • Gigi Good Trouble

“It’s a long list about what I’m passionate about. Women’s reproductive rights, due process for all people (whether you think they are illegal or not) – those are my two big ones. I grew up in the 60’s, so this isn’t brand new, but I certainly would not have predicted this. But I wouldn’t have predicted Trump would win, either.”
  • Debbie
    N4C Spotlight: Debbie
“I think the cruelty and the cuts to public health are one of the things I am most passionate about because I work in it. I was let go once and rehired, so there have been huge cuts and what people don’t understand is that most state health departments are federally funded. So people think, oh that’s Washington, DC, but it’s not, it’s state funding, no matter where – Texas, Virginia, everywhere. I was let go because the federal government cut all the funding to the programs that I was working under at a Virginia state agency.”

“I am so upset about everything that’s going on in this country with this President. I’m very upset about the chaos, about what they’re doing to the immigrants, ICE – that is very upsetting to me.”
