On 2/21 at the Regency Square Starbucks, Henrico Dems hosted a petition signing event for the Democratic candidates running for Congress in Virginia’s 1st district and for U.S. Senate. All in all, the event was a great success.
In the event room, petitions filled the table to the brim, with the bright blue Henrico Dems banner displayed in one corner. Turnout was high right out of the gate as voters of all ages showed up to sign, sign, and then sign some more. Their eagerness to support all the candidates was palpable and conversations indicated a deep understanding of the high political stakes involved.
VA-01 candidates Elizabeth Dempsey Beggs and Salaam Bhatti made an appearance to interact with voters, along with representatives from the campaigns of Mel Tull, Ericka Kopp, Dr. Lorita Daniels, and Mark Moran.
Neighbors For Change appreciates Henrico Dems and their efforts to give voters this chance to help get the candidates on the ballot. HD staff worked hard and provided guidance about the petition signing process, answered voter questions about the Democratic primary and redistricting, and informed voters about the efforts of Virginians for Fair Elections.
